This individual will analyze, service, and repair agriculture machinery/equipment including tractors, combines, sprayers, planting, tillage, and hay equipment. Four years progressive experience in farm equipment service operations is preferred. Ideally, someone that is mechanically inclined and is passionate about fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems. A successful Service Technician will have strong attention to detail, self-motivated, efficient and well-versed in all maintenance and repairs. LDI offers summer internships across the state of Kansas. The internship program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience, while applying academic knowledge and skills in an agriculture dealership. Internships may not be just a summer job, but could lead to a sustainable career. You will have an opportunity to develop your skills and learn more about the individual careers in a dealership.
Eligibility: A candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student in a technical college, community college or university or technical program.
Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students are eligible.
General Information: Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week, during an 8 to 12 week internship period, mid-May to mid-August. Interns may receive academic credit if an agreement is made between LDI and the intern's educational institution. All interns are subject to the applicable LDI employee rules as stated in the LDI Employee Manual.

Service technicians are a very important asset to LDI, and dealers nationwide are seeking skilled, competent mechanics who have knowledge of farm equipment. At LDI we want experienced technicians to help our business grow to its highest potential. To help obtain these qualified technicians, we offer a scholarship to students enrolled in a diesel mechanic program. $500 is dispersed every semester for two years and $500 every six months for their first two years of employment with LDI. Students who recently graduated from a diesel mechanic program can apply for the sign-on bonus. They receive $1,000 every six months for the first two years of employment with LDI. Hutchinson Community College and LDI have formed a partnership, so students enrolling at HCC will get an increased amount to $5,000. Upon completion of the program at HCC, students will be AGCO Certified Technicians.
In exchange for the scholarship and sign-on bonus, the recipient will agree to work at LDI for a minimum of two years. The scholarship money is contingent upon this agreement and if this agreement is broken, then the recipient is required to repay the amount of money they had already received. Students do have the option of picking at which store they would like to work. Students also have the possibility to work part-time while going to school. They can come get hands on experience in our shops and work directly with our experienced technicians before they graduate. However, this is subject to availability.
